Tommaso has a BSc background in Agricultural Sciences and Technology at the University of Milan (IT). Afterward he finished a MSc degree program in Plant Sciences at Wageningen University & Research (NL). In the Netherlands he specialized in the sector of Greenhouse Horticulture. Tommaso worked first as a research assistant at CEBAS-CISIC in Murcia (SP) focusing on Vertical Farming and later at Wageningen University & Research where he specialized into Plant Nutrition for soilless grown crops. In the past two years Tommaso joined the Water and Nutrients team of Wageningen University & Research – Greenhouse Horticulture Business Unit, where he is involved in several projects either as researcher or as project manager. The latest research in which Tommaso is involved focus on plant nutrition and fertilization of soilless grown crops with the final goal of reaching circular greenhouse horticulture.
